Just Because This Is The Best Soapbox I Have...

...it seems that this is a good place to say something.

When you send someone a sympathy card, it's not a good time to send pictures of yourself. Just in case this is the first time you've heard this, let me repeat. Don't send pictures of yourself in a sympathy card.

She did, however, give me a laugh. Perhaps it's good for that.

Last fall I was a caregiver to a friend who was dying of breast, lung and bone cancer. Some folks insisted on sending her get well cards that said "I'm hope you'll be on the mend soon" or "I hope you'll feel better soon". There was no "soon" the lady was terminal and knew it, as did the senders. Some folks just don't get it!

Must have been some picture. Was it a GlamourShot, or a mugshot?
