You're A Mean One Mr Grinch

If you're wondering, it's me.

I'm the mean one. The only one who doesnt' give their class a party or let children play the last day of the semester. We're doing reflective writing.

I'm the mean one. Anyone else with me?

We are not allowed to have class parties. The focus in my classes will to wrap up things before we take a two-week vacation. Not being mean. Just trying to do everything we need to do.

OH yeah, I've been hearing all week about how "mean" I am because we are not having a class party. All week long my math colleagues and I have watched a parade of food being carried through the halls. Several students told me that mine was the only class they were doing work in this week.

I just don't have the patience to put up with 6 different parties and students getting out of hand because they have nothing to do for 50 minutes.

I had mine making a foldable flipchart to summarize our last unit and they seemed to enjoy getting to use the colored pencils and markers while they worked. I'm not a complete Grinch though, I let them listen to Christmas music while they worked!

Have a merry Christmas and enjoy your break!

Why, we give them big nasty exams. That's the gift that keeps on giving!!!!

And after I edited six different papers for six different students because their English teacher suggested that they ask me since I was an English major, they brought ME food-- chocolate and pop preferred.

I am now on break!
